Tickets are £15 including buffet. Call Sheila Ricketts on 015394 43209 for details and booking.

At 10.30am on Tuesday, May 13, there will be an official twinning event at the Twinning Tree in Bowness featuring music by the Diesen brass band and their famous Alphorn instruments.

Between 3-5pm there will be a tea and an open garden event at the Fairfield Garden Guest House, Brantfell Road, Bowness, including games of croquet on the lawn.

At 7.30pm, the Diessen brass band and the Burneside Band will give a concert at St Herbert's Church, Lake Road, Windermere.

We look forward to meet again very, very good friends in Windermere/Bowness. Our "invasion" will be absolutely peaceful ;-) - for ever!

Totally inapproriate byline by the Gazette. They could have come up with something more in keeping with the Twinning ethos.

As a founder of the twinning, I am very pleased to see the 10-Year Celebrations mentioned in the Gazette - but do come along and see for yourself how inappropriate this sort of headline is.
