CHILDREN from a North Lancashire school have been creating culinary delights to highlight the charms of their home town Year 3 pupils from St Mary's Primary School in Kirkby Lonsdale took part in project to design a unique bakery product to attract people to their town.
Recipes included Devil's chocolate cookies, Kirkby Jacks, Kirkby Shorties, Kirkby Lonsdale double choc-chip muffins, Devil's bridge cakes and Kirkby Browns.
The children also designed and made their own boxes to promote their delicious ideas and have spent numeracy lessons researching how much people would be prepared to pay for their items.
Lunesdale Bakery has been so impressed with the children's tasty treats, it plans to choose one of the best ideas and produce its own version to sell in the shop.
