THREE friends from Kirkby Lonsdale will see a long-running project bear fruit this year when their book all about the history of town's schools is published.
Jane Sparrow, Audrey Phillips and Glynis Pepperrell are behind the book, which celebrates 150 years of local history by dipping into the heritage of Kirkby Lonsdale National School and St Mary's Primary School.
Called Kirkby Lonsdale National School & St Mary's Church of England School: A Portrait', it will feature photographs, anecdotes and extracts from school archives The book is due to hit the shelves in September and will cost £9.99, with all proceeds going to the primary school, which is still going strong.
