A BRITISH icon and trusty sidekick of many a Cumbrian farmer is celebrating its 60th birthday this year.
The Land Rover was first unveiled at the Amsterdam Motor Show in 1948.
Since then the all terrain vehicle has become world famous, growing in size into a range of different cars.
As popular with the Army as they are notorious among townsfolk as dreaded Chelsea Tractors,' the Land Rover has always retained a fond place in motorists' hearts.
In Cumbria, the 60-year-old workhorse is synonymous with the rugged landscape, where they are the motor of choice for the county's many hill farmers.
To celebrate the car's 60th birthday, we want to hear your Land Rover stories.
Why do you love the car so much? Has it ever got you out of - or into, for that matter - any close shaves?
We are particularly interested in finding the oldest still-running Land Rover in the area, and the car with the most miles on its clock.
