Thieves target commercial vehicles

THIEVES have made off with catalytic converters taken from vehicles in Kendal.

The converters were removed from six commercial vehicles parked in industrial estates in the town over night between Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9.

Two were stolen from vehicles parked in the Beezon Road Trading Estate, three were taken from the Westmorland Business Park and one was removed from a vehicle parked in the Shap Road Business Estate.

Police are asking owners of commercial vehicles to be extra vigilant and to park in a secure and well-lit area.

Anyone with any information about these thefts should call Cumbria Police on 0845 33 00 247 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
