POLICE have sent out a second warning to people not to use Santander cash machines in Lancashire.

Lancashire Constabulary used social media to tweet and Facebook warnings this afternoon after receiving reports that a number of the ATMs had been 'compromised'.

Police said that new reports, which follow a number of incidents last month, were being received from across the Lancashire area and people were advised not to use them.

A Police spokesperson said: "A number of Santander cash machines across Lancashire have been targeted by criminals in order to obtain customer card details and/or cash.

"This is being investigated by Santander and Lancashire Police but at this time the bank is unable to deactivate the machines.

"The advice from Santander is not to use them."

Customers who have lost money or believe they have seen anything suspicious should contact Santander and the police on 101.
