A BACUP youngster swapped her school uniform for a bright orange wig and legwarmers – in a bid to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer.
Bethany Trickett, of Thorn Primary School, her mum Sheona Parry and grandmother Val Parry teamed up to encourage people in Lancashire to raise cash for game-changing research into cancer.
Stand Up To Cancer is a joint fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 which aims to get new pioneering tests and treatments to cancer patients, faster.
This year people are being encouraged to ‘Get Orange-ified’ by getting sponsored to stand out in the colour orange at school, at work or with friends.
Bethany, now aged six, was just 17 months old, when she was diagnosed with Wilms’ tumour – the most common form of kidney cancer in children in 2012.
Bethany still has annual check-ups, but is fit and well.
