LIBRARIES in Lancashire will be taking part in a week-long celebration of storytelling this month.
As of Saturday, January 27, centres across the county will take the chance to read stories to children and celebrate reading as part of the 18th annual National Storytelling Week.
Lancashire County Cllr Peter Buckley, the cabinet member for community and cultural services on the council, said: "This gives us a great opportunity to encourage children to read new books.
"It is also a great way to help children learn, explore their world and to read at home with their family.
"You can call in at your local library to find out more information about National Storytelling Week and events and activities that are taking place."
Anyone who lives or works in Lancashire can join a Lancashire library, either online or by visiting the centre and filling out a form.
Membership is free and there are no age restrictions.
The National Storytelling Week is run by the Society of Storytelling.
