LANCASHIRE libraries are taking part in Autism Awareness Week 2018 from Monday, March 26 to Monday, April 2.
A new book list is being launched with titles for parents, children and carers. Library staff are also doing activities to increase their awareness of the lifelong condition, which affects how people communicate and relate to others.
Lancashire county councillor Peter Buckley said: "A campaign run by the National Autistic Society last year found a lack of public understanding was leaving autistic people and their families socially isolated. We are doing something to tackle this."
