EASTER celebrations on Sunday at Blackburn Cathedral will start as dawn rises.
The first service in the North Transept will be at 5.45am to open the commemoration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection.
The Dawn Eucharist for early worshippers will be led by the Dean of Blackburn, the Very Rev Peter Howell-Jones with music sung by the Cathedral’s Young People’s Choir.
It will be followed by a champagne breakfast.
At 8am there will be a Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion in the Jesus Chapel.
The main Festival Eucharist will takes place at 10.30am.
The preacher will be the Bishop of Blackburn, the Rt Rev Julian Henderson.
Evensong is at 4pm with the Cathedral Choir and the Cathedral Girls’ Choir.
