Three men have been arrested after people were threatened with a hammer and a machete.
Officers were called to an altercation Moorgate Street, near the Moorgate Arms in Blackburn at around 10pm.
Three men in their 40s were arrested on suspicion of affray after people were threatened with a hammer and a machete.
Police said a car was also driven into another vehicle during the incident.
While officers were dealing with that an unattended police car's windscreen was smashed in Manxman Street.
A police spokesman said: "Whilst officers were making enquiries regarding this incident unfortunately someone took it upon themselves to smash the windscreen of a Police car which was parked on Manxman Road, Blackburn.
"Not only does this mean that a police vehicle is now off the road and unable to respond to emergencies, it will also take a considerable amount of time and money to repair."
