MORE than £250,000 compensation has been paid to injured police officers and staff in the past five years.
One Lancashire Police employee received £16,000 and a PC got £11,269 - both for falls.
Another officer was awarded £46,603 for being bitten by a dog.
A police office involved in a road accident was given £12,898.
Last year alone, as the force looked to make £42million of budget cuts, they spent £85,173 in compensation.
The figures were released nationally.
ACC Peter White said: “We take our responsibility for the health and safety of all our employees seriously and when an incident does occur, we take every precaution to prevent it happening again.
“Every case is judged on its own merit, these are complex issues and we are satisfied that if compensation is paid out, that it is proportionate to the level of injuries sustained.”

Much like any other compensation case then.
"A Police office involved in a road accident was given £12,898" Apart from this being another fine example of p*ss poor Spelling by inept L.E.T reporters why is this in any shape way or form news? Why doesn't the L.E.T publish details of compensation claims awarded to the members of the fire and rescue
service or the NHS ?
Should the "OFFICE" involved in the accident who was subsequently awarded £12,898 not have received it ? Are you going to tell us the circumstances of the incident? No of course not, and do you know why ? Because you are a thrupenny bit regional rag who loves to take out the pin and throw the topical hand grenade in and see what's left after the smoke has cleared, and if you don't like it you simply delete it.
Do you by any chance have a thrupenny bit sister rag in Syria or North Korea ?
