Madison Allan’s uncle steps out in her memory

Madison Allan Madison Allan

THE great-uncle of Madison Allan is taking on a 220 mile coast-to-coast walk for the charity in her memory.

John Bradley, 62, of Scarborough, will set off from his home town on August 6, and will walk 20 to 25 miles every day until he reaches St Bee’s Head in Cumbria.

He said: “This is something I’ve always wanted to do, and raising money for this charity to give gifts to ill children, has given me the push I needed.

“I’ve been practising for a while, and I’ve done a few 20-mile practice walks. I hope to finish the route in nine or 10 days.”

All money raised will go to Maddi’s Butterflies, which was set up in memory of seven-year-old Madison, who died after a long battle with cancer on Boxing Day.

Her family aim to give treats to children, as well as advice to parents.
