SIZZLING sausages and crispy bacon were in great demand at a Lancashire village when more than 150 residents joined together for a hearty family breakfast.
The event, which raised more than £700 for Arkholme Village Hall, saw villagers offered the choice of a traditional English breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausage, tomatoes and hash browns or a lighter Continental option of fruit, yoghurt and croissants.
Diners were also able to pick up some local crafts and homemade treats from a selection of stalls and a colouring-in competition kept youngsters entertained.
Anita Huddleston, manager of Arkholme Village Hall, said the breakfast had been a great success, adding: “All the produce was locally sourced, which is very important to us. Also I think it tastes better.”
