A 19-YEAR-old motorcyclist has died following a collision with a campervan in north Lancashire.

Thomas Gudgeon, of Morecambe, died at the scene on the A6070 at Tewitfield, near Carnforth, yesterday.

Police said a silver Ford transit campervan was turning off the main road onto a minor road at around 3.15pm when it was involved in a collision with a red Suzuki motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.

The occupants of the campervan, a husband and wife from Cheltenham, were unharmed in the accident.

Officers are appealing for witnesses who saw the incident or may have seen either vehicle before the accident happened to call Lancaster police on 01524 63333 or the Road Policing Unit on 01524 596699.
