Three arrests and one charge following Kendal pub attacks

Police investigating two violent and serious disturbances that took place on Saturday night have arrested three men and charged another.

A 19-year-old Carnforth man was attacked at The Studio in Kendal at 11:45pm on Saturday.

Police have now charged 19-year-old Owen Harrison from Applewood, Kendal, with grievous bodily harm with intent.

He has been placed on police bail due to appear in Kendal Magistrates Court on December 22, 2009.

An 18-year-old man from Kendal was assaulted by another male outside the pub.

He is currently in the intensive care unit at Royal Preston hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police have arrested and bailed an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old male, both from Carnforth.

They are on police bail until December 20 2009.

An 18-year-old male from Warton has been placed on police bail until December 21 2009.

Detective Sergeant Furzana Nazir from Kendal CID said: "We are investigating two serious assaults which has left two local males with significant injuries - one remains in a serious condition in hospital.

"The Studio is a popular nightspot and I know that there will have been a lot of people in the area at the time who will have witnessed the incidents.

"I would urge them to contact myself or any member of my team on 0845-33-00-247 to tell us what they know or saw.

"The smallest bits of information can help us paint a clear picture of what happened so that we can identify the offenders and bring them to justice."
