CARNFORTH Town Council is to debate a Lancashire County Council proposal to make almost the whole town, except the main A6, a 20mph speed restricted area.
Residents are invited to attend the meeting on December 14, starting at 6.30pm, to make their views about the proposal known.

How do they intend to enforce the new limit?
Are the council prepared to pay for the additional wear and tear on vehicles subject to travelling over humps, if that is their proposed means of reducing the limit?
I suggest that Carnforth residents take a look at the humps in Kendal, which are no longer marked where white paint has worn off, and the speed cushions that are worn at the edges, and pluck at the sidewalls of your tyres as you pass over them!
Watch vehicles speed up between humps then brake sharply as they negotiate them, and see if they think this is an improvement!
