A HEYSHAM firm has won the contract to cut up a boat which ran aground off Blackpool.
Hancock's Contractors will dismantle the Riverdance, which has been beached since being struck by a freak wave in February.
The Riverdance was on its way to Heysham from Warrenpoint in Northern Ireland when it was hit.
Work will start soon to demolish the vessel after numerous attempts to re-float it failed. The ship will be sent away for recycling.
