Hornby host WI meeting

GUEST speaker at the WI was Mr Magee, who gave an interesting talk about his career as an airline pilot and telling of the special train excursion he has organised from Lancaster to York in aid of Help the Aged.

Two members attended the spring council meeting at Southport, where Hornby WI was congratulated on its 90th birthday, and Mrs Carter received her certificate for 60 years’ membership.

The competition for a Photo and Model of a Bird, was won jointly by Mrs Chester and Mrs Carter.

The next meeting is on April 20, when the speaker will be PCSO Mrs D. Williams.
