Cartmel Priory Wednesday Lent Lunches

Lent Lunches, organised by the Mothers’ Union, will be served on Wednesdays in the Priory between 12.30 and 2pm. Home made soup, cheese and rolls will be served with profits being paid to Help the Heroes.

Cartmel Primary School Quiz Night on February 25th

Cartmel Primary School is holding a quiz night in the Cavendish Arms, Cartmel on Thursday February 25th at 8pm. Entries are required please by February 19th for teams of 4 maximum and the team entry fee of £15 includes a hotpot supper. Please book through Lisa Wilson on 015395 36565. Profits will be used to buy books for the school.

Friends of St Peter's Field Broughton Social Night on February 19th

In spite of the inclement weather, 18 members attended Cartmel Village Society’s AGM to receive reports from the officers. They heard how the constitution had been reviewed and how it was felt that the Society should be retained as an effective voice for the village on matters such as proposed development and the wind farm. The Society had also co-ordinated the entry for Cumbria in Bloom for which the village had been awarded a certificate. The Society’s finances had been transformed by a generous bequest and the committee proposed that there should be an annual competition to promote various aspects of the village and its environment. Funds might also be made available for specific projects to the general benefit of the village and its residents.
