Burneside firm appoints deputy chairman

SPECIALIST papermaker James Cropper plc has appointed Mark Cropper as deputy chairman of the company.

Mr Cropper, 34, is the sixth generation of the Cropper family to be involved in the Burneside business, one of South Lakeland's largest employers.

He joins his father, James Cropper, the great, great grandson of the company's founder, who has been company chairman since 1971.

Mark Cropper joined the board of directors in 2006 and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority as a corporate finance adviser with Turquoise International Limited.

He specialises in energy and environ-mental investment, having previously worked at Johnson Matthey PLC as a fuel cell analyst.

He is also a director of Ellergreen Hydro Limited and Ellergreen Limited, James Cropper EBT Limited and was previously a director of Riva Society GB Limited.
