SNOW is starting to settle again across the Lake District.
Snow showers were expected to fall in the evening and at night across south Cumbria and north Lancashire, according to MET Office regional advisor Alan Goodman.
But it appears that the weather front has moved in earlier than anticipated.
Rachel Granger, manager at the Howbeck Guest House in Windermere, said: "It's starting to settle now.
"It's coming down quite heavily and the sky looks full of it."
