A RESIDENT of Kendal’s Kirkbie Green has called on Cumbria County Council to add the road on which he lives to its gritting regime.
Neil Arnott claimed that although council gritters regularly gritted the entrance to the cul-de-sac, they never covered the full development, which has 40 homes, mostly occupied by elderly residents who are left ‘housebound’. Mr Arnott asked: “Can the gritter spend five minutes to cover the length of the estate before someone is seriously injured?”
Cumbria County Council is looking into the matter.
