FASHION designer Edward Crutchley paid homage to his native Yorkshire roots in his first stand-alone presentation.

Edward, a former student at Settle College and graduate of Central Saint Martin’s, drew inspiration from his native Yorkshire Dales and showcased his menswear collection against a stunning backdrop of Three Peaks landscape, with photographs taken by his father, Clapham-based photographer David Crutchley.

Edward debuted his own label as a part of Fashion East in 2015 and last season screened a film as part of a British Fashion Council initiative.

In his Autumn Winter 2016 (AW16) collection, co-hosted in London by Louis Vuitton’s creative director, Kim Jones, and the Sunday Times Style magazine, Edward showcased his signature approach of mixing luxury fabrics with street styling. He also demonstrated his flair for using artisan British textiles in a palette of natural colours that captured the mood and spirit of the Dales.

A world-leading textile design consultant, Edward has worked with Pringle of Scotland, Kanye West and currently collaborates with Kim Jones at Louis Vuitton in France.

His AW16 collection was warmly received by the fashion press, with Paris Vogue describing him as "a rising star of British fashion".
