SETTLE District Young Farmers competed at the Yorkshire Young Farmers public speaking finals at Harrogate at the weekend.
The juniors did particularly well, with the Settle B Team of Anna Booth, Charlotte Booth and Ellie Saxby winning the junior public speaking and being awarded the Hayes Cup.
Results were: junior reading – 2 Charlotte Booth, India Healing and Jessica Sowerbutts, 6 Gemma Darwin, Charlotte Lambert and Millie Brennan; ten minute speech – 3 Paddy Capstick; junior member of the year – 2 Anna Booth; junior chairman – 1 Anna Booth, 6 Jonathan Booth; junior vote of thanks: - 1 Ellie Saxby, 6 India Healing; junior speaker - 4 Paddy Capstick, 6 Charlotte Booth.
Members will now compete at the Northern Area Finals in March at Carlisle.
