CALLING all vintage vehicle enthusiasts – Ingleton 1940s Weekend is taking transport as its theme.

And the organisers are hoping to have a huge turnout of different means of travel when the event is staged from July 1 to 3.

Chairman, Tim Goundry, said: "Exciting means of transportation already confirmed include a Battle of Britain memorial flypast, a parachute display by the Royal Logistic Corps Silver Stars, a replica spitfire on display and a visit from the Thwaites Dray and beautiful shires.

"So, now we are turning our attention to vintage vehicles to join our parade and displays around the village throughout the weekend, and we need as many people as possible to get in touch."

The committee wants to hear from the owners of classic cars, mature motorbikes, time-honoured tractors, trucks or tricycles from the 1940s. There is no charge to enter vehicles in the parade and discounts on camping locally are available for participants.
