A KIND-hearted anonymous donor has given £20,000 to to Ingleborough Community Centre, at Ingleton.
Centre manager Jane Lis said: “This is a massive amount of money and has never happened before as far as I can remember. It will go towards doing up the kitchen because that’s in bad need of updating with a new cooker and floor.”
A cheque for £20,000 addressed to the treasurer arrived in the post, taking everyone who uses the centre by surprise.
“It was a huge shock and I didn’t know anything about it at all. I haven’t got a clue who the person is but it is incredibly welcome to receive such a large amount of money and it will really make a difference,” Mrs Lis added.
The centre at the town’s Main Street is used by 3,000 people a year.
