A COUPLE who run the village store in Clapham are set to have their nuptials featured on TV.

Terry and Sonya Jenkins, who fell in love at first sight, tied the knot at the weekend – in front of cameras from Sky, filming the popular Four Weddings programme.

The show, on Sky Living's reality channel, features four brides attending each other’s weddings.

They then score the event based on how much they enjoyed it, with the winner being awarded a dream honeymoon.

Mr and Mrs Jenkins were married at St James’s Parish Church in Clapham on Saturday (May 12).

For their reception they hosted a vintage tea party at the village hall.

Mr Jenkins said they did not notice the film crew throughout their big day.

“We hardly knew they were there,” said Mr Jenkins.

“The other brides were very friendly and they seemed to have a good time which was the main thing.”

Mr and Mrs Jenkins, who are both aged in their early 50s, transformed the village hall with an array of vintage style decorations, from wall paper, rope lights, old crockery and lots of cake stands.

There was also a live band and hog roast.

“I was on one knee when I met Sonya as I was stacking the eggs, so it became a bit of theme,” said Mr Jenkins.

“She came into the shop on her way home from Scotland and we got on like a house on fire.”

The newly-weds met last August and were engaged by Christmas.

Mr Jenkins said it has been a ‘bit of whirlwind romance’.

“We are totally perfect for each other, she's absolutely perfect,” added Mr Jenkins.

The programme featuring the couple is due to be aired at the end of the summer.
