A RUGBY club based in Settle is to run training sessions for the community that could help to save lives following the installation of a new 'public access' defibrillator.
The machine, which will give victims of cardiac arrest a better chance of survival, has been fitted at the Grove Park ground of North Ribblesdale RUFC.

Members of the club's junior sections raised about £1,000 towards the cost of the defibrillator and first aid training, with the rest coming from the British Heart Foundation (BHF) under the auspices of its 'Nation of Lifesavers' scheme.
Rugby club spokesman Garry Cottam said: “We are delighted to have raised enough money to help fund this lifesaving package.
"The defibrillator will be accessible to all, being placed on the wall next to the main clubhouse entrance, meaning local people have the best chance of survival should they suffer a cardiac arrest. We’re keen to get as many people as possible trained in CPR too.”
