POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a 'fail to stop' accident on the A65 near Ingleton yesterday.
Officers say a dark-coloured car, possibly a Mondeo, was travelling from Westhouse to Ingleton at about 6.40am when it overtook a lorry on a blind bend.
An oncoming red VW Polo had to take evasive action and suffered extensive offside damage down its entire length.
The offending vehicle – which also had damage to the front offside – made off towards Ingleton.
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Barbara Yule at Ingleton Police Station on 0845 6060 247.
