MOTORISTS in North Yorkshire are being warned to avoid moorlands and Dales roads as the arctic conditions continue.
Police have issued the warning on a day (Saturday) when four minor collisions without serious injury, 16 damage only collisions, and 31 road disruptions were reported to the constabulary.
A spokesman said: "With more heavy snow forecast in the week ahead, coupled with easterly and north-easterly winds, there is a serious risk that drifting snow could make moorlands and Dales roads impassable and extremely dangerous.
"Therefore, we strongly advise people to stay away from those remote roads until the weather conditions significantly improve."
