New Little Red Bus service from Clitheroe to the Dales

A NEW bus service has started operating between Ribble Valley and Yorkshire.

Little Red Bus has been awarded the contract to run a new bus service from Clitheroe to Horton-in-Ribblesdale, via Dunsop Bridge, Slaidburn and Settle.

The new low floor buses are running Monday to Saturday (excluding public holidays) from 7am to 9.30pm.

This is part of the revised Bowland Transit service and is operated on behalf of Lancashire County Council, in partnership with North Yorkshire County Council.

This is not a new service but merely a revamp of the previous one and whilst it offers a through service instead of a connection at Slaidburn, the number of buses has been reduced and part of the previous route withdrawn. Also the size of bus to Slaidburn is reduced from more comfortable predecessors to a minibus.
Having said all that it is one of the most scenic bus routes in England and well worth a ride. Leave your cars at home and use this service - hope there will be room for you!
