THE awful weather stopped us from seeing many shooting stars last weekend, but hopefully the sky will co-operate this Saturday evening (January 11) when we're holding another of our very popular Moonwatch nights at Kendal’s Brewery Arts Centre.

This Moonwatch is being held to support the BBC's annual Stargazing Live event, and begins at 6.30pm. We'll have lots of different telescopes in the Brewery's garden which will - weather permitting - provide stunning views of the Moon's enormous craters, dark frozen lava seas and towering mountain ranges. Look into the bigger telescopes and you'll think you're actually flying over the Moon, the view will be so clear! We'll also show you other night sky sights, and a real meteorite too...

This event is totally free and suitable for everyone, regardless of age or experience. We'll even have stools so little ones can look into the telescopes.
