Praise for all at hospital I recently returned home after a two-week stay in Westmorland General Hospital at Kendal, having contracted pneumonia.

I cannot speak too highly about the treatment I received during my stay.

The care and attention from the doctors, the nursing staff and carers can only be described as first class - the regular cleaning of the wards deserves comment, and the good nature and ‘banter’ of everyone really lightened what could have been very boring days!

A lot of criticism and adverse comment is often levelled at the food served up to patients in hospital, but here again the food served was both plentiful, varied, and tasty.

Finally, and by no means least, a big vote of thanks are also due to MP Tim Farron and all his supporters, including me, in the battle to keep the hospital open, and hopefully extend the services provided.
