CENTRE OF TOWN: Market Place at Kendal
It would seem that the large square in the centre of Kendal on the opposite side of Stricklandgate from The Westmorland Gazette offices, the one that has Thornton's on the corner, keeps changing its name.
Over the last few months the Gazette in various reports has named it "the Market Square" and "Market Street".
The correct name of this area of town is "Market Place".
That's what it says on the street signs - and it has been for many years!
