In view of all the bad publicity our hospitals keep receiving, I thought it only right to comment on my two recent admissions to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
On both occasions, on reaching A&E until my discharge from Ward 36, my care could not have been better.
In a very clean A&E, all the staff were very professional while friendly and at all times I was fully informed of what was being done and all procedures were very efficiently carried out.
As soon as the doctors made the decision that I must be admitted, the transfer was organised quickly. The portering staff were caring. Ward 36 was spotlessly clean and all the doctors, nursing and cleaning staff again were professional and friendly.
All the investigations were thoroughly explained and carried out superbly.
The food was good - plenty of choice and fresh.
I have nothing but praise for all the very busy staff, who at all times were pleasant thought working under a lot of pressure.
No-one relishes the prospect of going into hospital, but both my experiences were good ones.
