LETTER: Concern over children dressed in military uniforms
The Westmorland Gazette featured children at a local festival dressed in military uniform brandishing large guns (Gazette, July 9, ‘Back to the 40s in Operation Home Guard’).
Alongside the Budget announcement of an increase in funding for schools to set up Cadet Corps I fear that we are allowing our children to be brainwashed into accepting ‘military values’ above moral values.
Quakers in Britain have produced a short video on the creeping militarisation in schools http://www.unseenmarch.org.uk/ which I commend to anyone involved in Education.
