Please allow me to endorse the letter from Guy Greenwood (Letters, August 20, 'Refugees don't pose a threat').
Retired residents here at Calgarth Park have witnessed the grievous procession of victims of violent regimes during our own lifetimes.
Referring to them as migrants, as some media headlines do, is an insult. These people have faced dreadful suffering.
Refugees to Britain since 1945 have brought our country some great and valued residents. These refugees must be distinguished from economic migrants.
