I read about the CQC report on care agency True Care (Gazette, December 31).

My family uses True Care daily to enable our 86-year-old mum to live independently. Without this service, her ability to live in the house/community she has been in for over 30 years would be in question, and what a loss that would be!

I cannot speak too highly of both Gail Hartley and her team. To even get a care agency in South Lakes is nearly an impossibility!

Ms Hartley is not only very experienced, knowledgeable and professional, but very caring of her 'customers' and she communicates this ethos, and expects, it from her staff.

Personally, I prefer these qualities rather than an agency obsessed with completing paperwork and 'jumping through the hoops' of a consortium like CQC.

They report that the agency is 'not always safe, not always effective, not always responsive and not always well led'. Well I would ask, and will be asking, is this five per cent, ten per cent, 20 per cent even 50 per cent of the time?

If you need support, True Care comes highly recommended, that is if you are lucky enough to find they have the capacity for your needs.

My best wishes to Gail and her staff. May they long continue to give true care to people in South Lakes.
