I must sing the praises of all the home carers in our communities, who help people live comfortably in their own homes.

I would particularly like to thank all of them for working, tirelessly, during the recent difficult weeks of flooding, and then the recent weekend of snow. Three marvellous heroines walked through the snow for two hours when they had been forced to abandon their cars in the snow on Saturday evening, in order to help me put our son to bed. And I am sure there were many others like them.

They arrived cold and wet, but very cheerful, and were there again on Sunday evening after only four hours' sleep the previous night. So a very big thank you from one very grateful mother.
