St George’s Church at Castle Street, Kendal, has been offering free food, warmth, information and a listening ear to those affected by the floods since December 7.
We would like to thank all those local businesses and individuals who have supported us with gifts of food and money and the amazing number of people who have volunteered to help in the kitchen.
It has been a privilege to welcome so many into our building and we will continue to offer this service as long as it is needed.
From the beginning of February, food will be served on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11.30am - 2.30pm. We look forward to hosting a big community party in the summer to celebrate the area’s recovery and resilience together.
