Why is it necessary to keep closing sections of the A590 at night? As this is a dual carriageway, surely traffic could be diverted on to the other carriageway while work is carried out on the section requiring attention.
The diversions made are ridiculously long and can add an hour or more to the shortest of journeys.
The electronic notice board on the A590 after Brettargh Holt roundabout is difficult to read and understand - how many people know where Sampool is?
I haven't seen an informative pre-warning sign on any of the feeder roads, and as a frequent user of the road at nights I have found people like myself driving around in the dark on single track roads lost, trying to find their way home.
I can't understand why the road gets so much money spent on it for seemingly trivial jobs that cause long hold ups, both day and night. These are very annoying and must cost businesses thousands of pounds a year.
The Highways Agency is clearly not fulfilling one of its stated aims which is to 'maintain and improve journey times between the M6 and Barrow'.
If a train or plane journey is delayed then passengers can claim compensation. Delayed drivers should be able to do the same from the Highways Department.
