LETTER: Kendal needs a northern relief road
There have been two instances in the last six months when the M6 has been closed between Tebay and J36, because of accidents, resulting in the diverted traffic being sent through Kendal.
A recent traffic accident at the Junction of Hollins Lane and Windermere Road resulted in traffic disruption in that area.
Had there been a Northern relief road, diverted M6 traffic would quickly be back on the motorway instead of being funnelled through Kendal and the Hollins Lane junction would be replaced with a new road and a roundabout.
