I wholeheartedly agree with the campaign to free the Press from this gross interference from the likes of Max Mosley and his acolytes in Impress (Gazette, January 5, 'Your newspaper needs your help - now!').

More shame on this government for supporting this manic over reaction to phone hacking. Perhaps secretly they wish to support it so as to hide their misdemeanours being aired in public in the future?

Even if I have to put up with Tim Farron on every other page of The Westmorland Gazette, I will support its campaign until this insidious section 40 of the Crime and Courts Act is consigned to the dustbin where it belongs. Sign up on freethepress.co.uk to make sure your voice is heard.
