I would like to pay tribute to the paramedic team and the air ambulance crew who treated me following my cardiac arrest on a street in Kendal on February 15.
My wife performed cardiac resuscitation, while a bystander ‘phoned for an ambulance and another bystander provided blankets.
The paramedics arrived in about eight minutes and defibrillated me before transferring me to the Air Ambulance for admission to the Cumberland Infirmary. I am now recovering well at home.
It is a pleasure to be able to say that the paramedic and air ambulance teams were outstanding in their rapid, efficient and competent handling of my case.
I thank them for giving me back my life.
