An important weekend for the Friends of Coronation Hall is coming up, culminating in their annual meeting on Monday, March 13.
On Saturday, March 11, from 1pm-2pm, there will be the last of the group's series of talks until September when the new season will start.
The last talk on the 11th will be given by Jan Hancock of Ulverston's Civic Society. Jan is a vigorous advocate defending the historic buildings of the town, and so playing a huge part in keeping the town's heritage as intact as possible. She will be giving an illustrated account of Vanishing Heritage.
The Friends' AGM will see all the officers and committee members up for re-election. Almost all the officers and committee members have been serving since the Friends of Coronation Hall Association was formed four years ago.
We would welcome new members onto our committee with fresh ideas and energy and enthusiasts who wish to take up any of the offices.
We have come a very long way since the Mayor (Judy Pickthall at the time) called a public meeting to test the interest - the result is almost 900 members and a healthy income stream, all of which goes to help the Coro.
Colin Pickthall
Chairman, Friends of Coronation Hall
