Since when have fences solved problems?

In the Middle Ages we had walls round towns. Why? Because we feared our neighbours.

Today we manage pretty well without these barriers.

And what did the Berlin Wall do, except fuel passion and shame in equal amounts?

Now Donald Trump wants to fence in the Mexicans. Have we not yet grown out such limited solutions?

It’s what goes on inside that matters.
