JUNIORS from Under 11 to Under 16 battled it out for glory as The Kent Valley Junior Football League held its Junior Finals day.

The Cup finals that were held at Kendal Town Football Club and Netherfield's thirds' pitch produced plenty of action as the battle for glory came to its conclusion.

In the first cup final of the day Kendal United Under 13s won the Gordon Greaves Slate Cup after an emphatic 6-0 win over Ibis in a game that was played at Parkside Road.

Tom Humble scored a hat trick while Alfie Owen, Jack Davies and Steve Kyalo were also on the scoresheet.

In the other games, Wattsfield United were crowned Under 11 Cup winners as they defeated Kendal United 4-1. Matthew Casson, Jonny Lee-Machell and Lucas Cassels were among the scorers.

Ambleside United Under 12s picked up the O'Connell and Bean Trophy with a dramatic 3-2 win over Heathwaite United.

James Bowan scored a brace while Jose Purcell completed the scoring. Heathwaite replied through Brandon Cooper and Jack Taylor-Hindle.

Wattsfield Under 15s collected the David Baines Cup after a hard-fought 3-0 win over Ibis. Moses Helliwell opened the scoring within the first five minutes for Andrew Troughton's team. However Ibis missed a penalty as the Wattsfield keeper made a stunning save to deny Lucas Parker.

Wattsfield doubled their lead ten minutes into the second half as Abe Brown drilled the ball home from just outside the penalty area before Helliwell scored his second and Wattsfield's third of the afternoon.

In the final game Kendal United Rockets Under 16s defeated Wattsfield United 3-1 to win the Southcott Catering Cup.

Liam Dolan, James Bennett and an own goal sealed the win for the rockets who picked up their first piece of silverware for the season.
