The South Westmorland Senior Bowling League produced plenty of shocks in a dramatic round of action across all five divisions.

Division One Leaders Netherfield A suffered a surprise 5-3 defeat to Netherfield B.

In the other games second-placed Warton closed the gap on top spot following a 5-3 win at Bolton-le-Sands, Holme A and Lindale A both picked up 8-0 wins against Silverdale A and Lower Holker A. Carnforth A defeated Windermere A 6-2, while Springfield A eased past Levens A 7-1.

Abbot Hall A moved seven points clear at the top of Division Two following a hard-fought 6-2 home win over Burneside A.

Bowness A and Subscription A were also 6-2 winners after battling past Crosthwaite A and Milnthorpe A. Ingleborough A routed Victoria 7-1, Arnside A won by the same score at Lower Holker B before Kirkby Lonsdale routed Heversham A 8-0.

In Division Three,Warton B whitewashed Crosthwaite B 8-0. Levens B, Sedbergh B and Carnforth B picked up 5-3 victories against Springfield B, Lindale B and Staveley A while Allithwaite A and Endmoor both won 6-2 over Hawkshead and Holme B.

Netherfield C continued to dominate Division Five after a comprehensive 8-0 home win against Langdale. Burneside B saw off Subscription B 6-2, Burton-in-Lonsdale held on to defeat Kirkby Lonsdale B 5-3. In the final two games both Abbot Hall and Ingleborough B picked up 7-1 wins at Windermere B and Heversham B.

In Division Five Allithwaite B are now 23 points clear at the top after a hard-fought 6-2 win at Subscription C. Sedbergh A and Arnside B both picked up 5-3 wins over Milnthorpe B and Staveley B. Silverdale B defeated Netherfield D 6-2, while Bowness B and Endmoor B drew 4-4.
