THE Calmac Ferry Loch Dunvegan plies the very short five-minute ferry crossing from Colintraive on the mainland to Rhubodacch on the Isle of Bute. It is a far larger ferry than the Windermere one, takes coaches and vans, as well as cars and guess what - you pay on board!
Problems? None that I have experienced.
How about a trip there for Cumbria County Council to see how staff on a large ferry on a five-minute crossing cope with payments.
There is perhaps no need for such a jolly fact-finding mission though, when just a good dose of common sense is needed.
